I know it has been ages since I blogged and I must apologize for that. I have been very busy. Since the new year I have been working in earnest to finish up the follow-up to, "The Awakening" books with its sequel, "The Gathering." I'm happy to say that I have finished it... Well, sort of. I have done what us authors like to call (or perhaps it is just me) round one of finishing. What that means is that I have finished writing the story. Now comes the fun part (sarcasm, heavil
Well, it's 2019 and its that time for people to make resolutions that they will just cast away in the next coming weeks. So often, our resolutions aren't realistic and that is why they fail. So, why don't you make a realistic one? How about discover a new author? Just saying. To ring in the new year, I decided to do something special for my readers. I had some difficulty deciding if I should run a Contest, or a Giveaway. In the end, I decided to do both. First, I decided to t
This book has been a little bit of a labor of love. I started writing it over fifteen years ago. I set it aside as life interfered and made writing a luxury I didn't have time to afford. When I went back to writing, I had a different story that was demanding I write it, and, "The Awakening: Part One" was born. When I finished up with, "The Awakening: Part Two" I was left with a difficult decision. Continue to work on the Lycan War Saga, or dust off my earlier work and do what

"Are you seeing this?" Malcolm asked Alex as he stared at the screen on his tablet. The sounds of yelling and screaming poured out from the small electronic.
"Seen what?" Shuffling over towards Malcolm, he struggled to look over his shoulder at the video.
"This!" Thrusting the tablet into Alex's hands, his eyes bright and wide, nodding, encouraging Alex to watch the video.
They were always showing each other videos on their tablets. Usually they were crazy videos of peopl
Book release parties are nothing knew in the world of publishing. They are often grand events with food, book readings and Q&A sessions at some large book store, or cafe. However, these are events for well-known or award winning authors. Those who have name recognition. An author whose name gets people to go, "Oh cool, I always wanted to meet him/her. I love their books!" For the rest of us that have yet to break into that level of stardom or book release parties are usually

As I sit here planning out for my next book signing a thought occurred to me. Are book signings really necessary? The answer. Absolutely! As an independent author especially. When you are an independent author, or even an author who is published by a small printing press, you receive little to no publicity. The only publicity you get is the ones you create for yourself. This is where book signings come in. Of all the publicity I have used, facebook ads, twitter, giveaways, pa
